Permits and Requirements

• Overview of Side Sewer Requirements (35K pdf)
  All side sewers within the Novato Sanitary District must conform to the District's Standard Specifications and Sanitary Code, copies of which are available from the District office. This document provides an overview of the side sewer requirements.

• Sewer Ordinance #70 (116K pdf)
  This ordinance regulates the use of public and private sewers and drains, the installation and connection of buidling sewers, the installation of sewer laterals, and public sewer main extensions. It also provides the fee structure for the installation and connection of sanitary sewers, regulates the discharge of waters and wastes into the public sewer systems and provides penalties for the violations of any of these provisions.
